Welcome to Right the Record’s Community Archive. Our mission is to replace false narratives about police brutality with truth, by documenting the public accounts from the community to be used as a resource for those seeking healing, accountability, and justice, in perpetuity. We’re happy you’re here to share your story. 

Before you do, please keep these few things in mind to best protect yourself and others. Please don’t skip this. We aren’t attorneys, but this information is important:

  • You must be 18 or older to submit content.
  • You can choose to submit your item anonymously, under your name, or on behalf of an organization. If you choose to include identifying information (like your name, contact information, or even listing a particular police department) in your submission we want to remind you that anyone can view it, including law enforcement.
  • Make sure the information you provide is true and accurate to the best of your ability, particularly if you are speaking about another person or their reputation. Not only does this help us stay in right relationship as a community, but it helps protect everyone from potential legal issues like libel or slander.

Share Your Story

We accept all sorts of formats. The most common are pictures, videos, and narratives, but we encourage you to be creative.  Take a look through the website to see what others have shared, or feel free to contact us if you have questions.
