Nov. 25, 2014, Protest after Acquittal of Officer Darren Wilson who Killed Michael Brown

In advance of the decision whether Officer Darren Wilson would be indicted, Puncture the Silence put out a notice of a protest beginning the following day at 3 pm at Public Square. After the decision came down, on November 25, people, including 75 students from Oberlin College, rallied and encircled the then-open intersection of Public Square. PTS then lead a march toward the “Injustice” Center. At Lakeside Avenue they turned right toward E. 9th St. They turned left on E. 9th St. toward the Lake and walked right through the mounted police attempting to block the demonstrators down onto the highway, Route 2. After a celebratory hour, they marched back to Public Square.
