Activists from Ferguson came to visit Cleveland in December of 2014. Reeling from the unpunished police murder of Michael Brown, they came in solidarity with the fight for justice for Tamir Rice, Tanisha Anderson and other Stolen Lives. They brought a banner that had been sent to them from Portland, OR, that said, “Ferguson is Everywhere” with the faces of lives stolen from around the country depicted. A poster from the Revcoms in the midst of the demonstrators said,”We Stand with the Defiant Ones.” who rose up in Ferguson.
Ferguson activists inspired protesters in Cleveland, marching throughout the city. Protesters met in front of officers’ Loehmann and Garmback First District Police Station on W. 130th St. They marched through Public Square ending with a die-in at Playhouse Square.
