Interviewers for the Righting the Record Oral History Project-Summer, 2015

There was a national professional archivist meeting in Cleveland in the summer of 2015. The archivists approached Puncture the Silence-Stop Mass Incarceration about doing a service project and settled on a StoryCorps-type project interviewing people on the street about their experiences with the police. This became the Righting the Record Project 2015 on this website, righttherecord.org. The archivists were instrumental in the development of a People’s Archive of Police Violence in Cleveland, the heart of this website. A People’s Archive was launched in Spring, 2017, and this website was launched in November, 2025.
