Interviewee: Daniel, Montina Q. (MD)
Interviewer: Colon-Marrero, Elena (ECM)
MD: If somebody makes…if somebody has a discrepancy with Caucasians in Cleveland…the police start…black American people in the city… Like if you go into a business or restaurant, McDonald’s or library, they’ll stalk you. They’ll follow you down the street and they will target you. And put other people, biracial children and all other kinds of underhanded ploys, to racially target black people.
It’s like, Apartheid. And it’s always been run in Apartheid method here. And it’s been done like that for years and it’s now more out in the open here because it has to stop. Especially with the [getting? gunning?] of Cleveland’s black children by police officers.
And we’ve had other incidents with white women targeting, mistreating, and mishandling black children. We’ve had all kind of incidents here and it’s pretty bad here. And we want it battled in Washington, we want complaints filed and here we want something done about it.
ECM: All right. Do you have anything else you’d like to share?
MD: No, but we want civil rights lawyers and we want the Federal Bureau of Investigation to bring enforcing from [??] and we want more black people in more high positions here. We want them in high position jobs. We don’t want them racially attacked in colleges and things like that that have occurred here and we want something done about it in Washington with legislation and litigation. And we want people coming in here with enforced affirmative action and opening up doors and jobs to black people that have the ethical background to handle some of the situations in an intelligent manner and get rid of someone Caucasians out of the workplaces that cause all the friction. And we want them terminated from the positions and we want people in the positions that will run them with more integrity. We’re tired of it. Thank you.
ECM: Thank you.
